Three Card Monte is the longest running and most successful play in history.  Everybody has a role, the thrower, the spotter, the booster, the cheating shill, and even the Mark.

Contrary to popular belief, at every Monte Table there is only one sucker, so if you don’t see him, you may as well wipe the Chalk Mark off your back.
